Knife's Edge

Knife's Edge, stained glass mosaic on board, 10 1/2" x 24", 2010 ~SOLD

Over the last couple of months, I've been in a purple phase. It is such an intriguing color; we don't get to see it as much as the others. But when we finally encounter it, there is a much more captivating effect. I love seeing purple/violet sky; its always such a treat!

Knife's Edge is a trail on Mt. Katahdin which is the tallest and most unique mountain in Maine. The peak of the mountain is also the end of the infamous Appalachian Trail that runs through the Eastern section of the United States.

Kyle and I climbed Katahdin a couple years back and it might be our favorite mountain in the Northeast! The climb was very steep and while near the top, you feel like you are near the clouds like  in my mosaic. If you look very close at the middle photo, you can see tiny hikers on the very sharp ridge known as 'Knife's Edge'.

The scenery on Katahdin really is world class, so is the hiking and the memories!

  1. What a lovely piece! It has such a serene presence, and the blue clouds just seem to be floating along over the mountains.

  2. Finally, you will also want to consider the other knives that are in the set. Why isn't this first on the list?https://meknives.com/best-bushcraft-knife/
