Foggy Morning

Foggy Morning, stained glass mosaic on board, 7" x 28", 2010 ~SOLD

The above mosaic is inspired by the many beautiful early mornings I got to see and enjoy in the Northeast Kingdom while I lived and worked at Bonnieview Farm.

My friend Kristen gave me an accordion sketch book where I began to draw the mountains seen from the porch of the yurt I lived in.  I was very lucky to have the opportunity to see change them change from hour to hour and from day to day and season to season.

One of my favorite sights was the morning fog. One day I woke up super early, maybe 4:30 or so and I couldn't sleep so I decided to get dressed and make my way to the pasture to gather the sheep for the early morning milking.  When I opened the door to the outside, I found myself in a cloud.  I was speechless.  Everything beyond the porch was white. I bundled up and set down outside, watching the fog slowly go down until my mountains were unveiled.  The view of the foggy mountains was unforgettable.

A view from my porch early in the morning.

The pasture early in the morning just before I gathered the sheep for milking.
