I've been living in Colorado since the beginning of 2012. Over the years, I have seen many beautiful snowy mountain scenes. Colorado is a true winter wonderland, a truly magical place when the Rocky Mountains are veiled in fresh snow. I've also lived in areas where the night sky is pretty spectacular. With this new painting I wanted to combine some of my favorite aspects of experiencing Winter in the mountains.  I hope that this painting inspires people to venture outside even when it may be bitterly cold out there. I know that's what I am hoping for myself =)

The painting is varnished in gloss on both the face and along all the wooden edges which have a painted accent strip.

My paintings are created with layers of acrylic wash. The various layers create wonderful color changes through out. On top, I use acrylic paint markers of varied thicknesses to draw patterns and lines to help my landscape come a live. There is a hanging wire as well as a certificate of authenticity on the back.
