Agate, (A Grouted Stained Glass Mosaic, Welded Steel, Foam, Hybrid Concrete), 69" H x 36"W x 8"D, 2025 ~Available for Purchase via the City of Alamosa
On September 12th, we installed my latest glass mosaic sculpture on the North East Corner Main Ave and Hunt Street in Downtown Alamosa. The sculpture is part of the outdoor art exhibit Alamosa ArtScape 2025/26.
The
Green agate symbolizes growth and abundance - something I definitely
hope for each year in my struggling veggie/flower garden in the
challenging and very short growing season in Pagosa Springs where I live
😂 Now I’m thinking that I should make one for my garden lol to ensure
healthy plants in the 2026 season!
This sculpture is a tribute to the vibrant farming
community in the Alamosa region and a good omen for the future season.
The Agate is associated with balance, stability and protection. The
inner layered bands represent the cyclical nature of life, promoting
inner balance and stability for all who come in contact with it. I hope
that my Agate helps people feel more grounded and I harmony with the
inner self.
