An Etching Effect

The winter was coming and I began to daydream about mountains and the snow that was on the way. That's how my next mosaic came about - Winter Dream.

 
These two pieces are actually shots of one piece in two different stages. When I made the above mosaic, something felt unfinished so I etched the whole piece and re-grouted in black to stain the glass. Initially I named the above piece "Winter Dream".

This final version of "Winter Dream" has a dirty, tainted look. It reminds me of when the snow becomes dirty and the mood of the dreamy winter landscape changes.
